Experiences

Sport Fishing Photography & Video

Capture the excitement of sport fishing aboard a luxury yacht, from preparing the tackle and heading offshore to the anticipation of a strike, the teamwork of landing a catch and the celebration that follows.

Time required
Approximately 3 hours.

Why it’s in the plan

Fishing combines adventure, skill, teamwork and time together on the water. This experience shows the yacht as the ideal platform for offshore exploration while creating an authentic story around the journey, not only the catch.

What you’ll get

  • Fishing rods, reels, lures and tackle preparation
  • Bait preparation when appropriate
  • Departure for the fishing grounds
  • Casting or trolling sequences
  • Angler reactions and crew assistance
  • Fighting and landing the fish when successful
  • Drone views of the yacht trolling offshore

Crew requirements

Deck crew should prepare and check all rods, reels, lures, bait, outriggers, fighting chair, fish boxes, nets, gaffs and safety equipment. The cockpit should be clean, uncluttered and ready before production begins. Interior crew should prepare refreshments, snacks and cold towels, with a simple celebration setup available if a catch is landed.

The day, not just the fish

Most fishing photography is a single picture of someone holding a fish. The day is longer than that, and more sellable: tackle racked and rigged, lures run out, the boat pushed offshore, rods set in the outriggers, and the fight when it comes. Photographed as a sequence, it shows a client what the programme actually involves rather than promising a result no one can guarantee.

The same craft photographed as a lifestyle tender rather than a fishing platform is Jet Ski & Tender Lifestyle. For the other offshore activity run from the yacht, see Scuba Diving.
